SUMMARY:LARC Announces Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge
LOCATION:8851 Crown Colony Blvd. Fort Myer, FL 33908
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:LARC (Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens), a nonprofit organization th
at empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities th
rough vocational training, residential support, and inclusive community ser
vices, is proud to launch the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge—a one-of
-a-kind fundraising event just for kids and teens in grades 1–12. This exci
ting day of fun, mentorship, and prizes. \nThis is Southwest Florida’s fir
st youth golf fundraiser of its kind, created to bring together elementary,
middle, and high school students of all skill levels—from beginners to fut
ure champions—for a meaningful cause. Golfers will participate in fun on-co
urse challenges and enjoy an awards ceremony and great prizes.\n“Whether yo
u’re new to golf or already mastering your swing, the LARC Youth Golf Chall
enge is your chance to be part of something meaningful,” said Angela Katz,
LARC Executive Director. “By raising funds, kids are helping people with in
tellectual and developmental disabilities learn life skills, find jobs, and
live more independently. They will also be role models—showing the communi
ty the power of inclusion, kindness, and youth leadership. All skill levels
are welcome, and it’s not just about winning—it’s about giving your best,
having fun, and making a difference. So grab your clubs and join us—you’ll
be swinging for a cause that truly matters.”\nTo participate, each golfer i
s asked to raise a minimum of $250, which directly supports LARC’s programs
for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The top
three fundraisers receive amazing prizes and a hole-in-one challenge will
feature a magical Disney vacation for four.\nRaising $250 is easier than yo
u think! Kids can ask 10 people to donate $25 or 25 people to give $10—or m
ix it up. Other creative ideas can be found on LARC’s website www.larcleeco
unty.orgi including a Sponsor-Per-Hole Challenge, where friends and family
pledge a donation for each hole played (for example, $10 per hole for 9 ho
les = $90); a Collect Change Campaign, using a decorated jar to collect spa
re change; or asking for donations in lieu of birthday or holiday gifts. Pa
rticipants can also raise funds by offering chore services—like mowing lawn
s, raking leaves, walking dogs, or washing cars. With a parent’s help, kids
can also post a short fundraising video on social media explaining their g
oal and including a donation link.\nBe part of something meaningful. Sign u
p, start fundraising, and swing FORE a more inclusive future!\nBusinesses a
nd community supporters are encouraged to amplify their impact by sponsorin
g the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge. Sponsorship packages offer a ra
nge of promotional benefits—and more importantly, they send a powerful mess
age that our community values young people and embraces individuals of all
abilities. By supporting this event, sponsors champion inclusion, youth emp
owerment, and a stronger, more connected Southwest Florida.\nTo register, b
ecome a sponsor, or learn more, visit www.larcleecounty.org/events/youthgol
fchallenge.\nEstablished in 1954, LARC is a training center for success for
individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. LARC serves
more than 300 individuals annually, and participants range from 14 to 83.
\nLARC offers life skills training, vocational training, youth programs, co
mmunity employment services, and a vast array of other state-of-the-art com
munity inclusion services on a full-time, year-round basis. Its main campus
is located at 2570 Hanson Street, Fort Myers. LARC also operates two Resid
ential Group Homes in Cape Coral. \n
